Starting today, thanks to our new partnership with Shopify, all U.S. Shopify merchants will have a quick and easy way to tap into Twitter to drive their customers to purchase.

With our Twitter Shopping ecosystem, we’re investing in features that empower businesses to put their products in front of their customers and drive them to where they can make a purchase.

This partnership with Shopify is an important step in helping merchants unlock opportunities to reach shoppers on Twitter at those precise moments of discovery, inspiration, and consideration.

We built a Twitter sales channel app, available in Shopify’s App Store and through the Shopify admin. When a merchant adds our sales channel app, they can:

  • Onboard to Twitter Shopping Manager: With just a few clicks, merchants can connect their Twitter account to their Shopify admin and onboard onto our Shopping Manager – the entrypoint to our suite of Twitter Shopping tools where merchants can access and manage our shopping features. In addition to having access to the Shopping Manager, merchants can also access the other free tools we are building for professionals.

  • Automatically sync their inventory: Our sales channel app regularly syncs with Shopify merchants’ product catalogs, so they don’t need to manually update product information on Twitter. As their Shopify catalog changes, so does the catalog in their Twitter Shopping Manager.

  • Highlight their products: Merchants can showcase their products front and center on their Twitter profile with the Shop Spotlight or Twitter Shops to build brand awareness, drive product discovery, and reach customers – all for free. When they’re ready to purchase, shoppers can checkout on the merchant’s website. Starting today, we are also expanding beyond the beta testing phase for Shop Spotlight and Twitter Shops and making both features available to all merchants in the U.S.

Shopify is already a go-to commerce platform for merchants looking to start, grow, and manage their business. As we look to scale our shopping products and bring them to more merchants, we’re excited to partner with an industry leader.

Reaching potential customers where they are is critical to the success of Shopify merchants. Twitter is where conversations happen, and the connection between conversations and commerce is vital. Our partnership with Twitter, and the launch of the Twitter sales channel, will let merchants seamlessly bring commerce to the conversations they’re already having on the platform.

Amir Kabbara, Director of Product, Shopify

In 2021, there were 6.5 billion Tweets mentioning businesses globally. For shoppers who are already engaged in discussions about businesses and products, this partnership can bring more of their favorite products directly onto Twitter for them to browse, shop, and buy. One of the first merchants to take advantage of Twitter’s sales channel app on Shopify is Trixie Cosmetics (@TrixieCosmetics).

The Twitter sales channel makes it quicker and easier to meet our customers wherever they are. The automatic syncing is going to help us save so much time, and the sales channel allows me to easily connect the two platforms that we already tap into to sell products and engage with customers.
